This easy summer daisy table in aqua, white, and yellow is a fun way to use daisies and butterflies to welcome long, sunny days. Let these ideas inspire your summer table!
Summer Daisy Table with Pottery
This daisy table was inspired by aqua pottery with daisies. I found the pottery during winter when it was rainy and dreary! The pottery reminded me of sunshine and warmer days, and I think this table reflects the spring I longed for on the rainy day when I found it.
Mix Cloth and Paper Table Linens
I used a white tablecloth with an aqua and white striped table runner. The paper table runner from Hester & Cook was previously used with a green and blue Easter table (see it here). The paper runner worked so well with a completely different look. I also like that there is enough paper on the runner roll to set more than one table!
Colorful Fruit Cups
I placed cut fruit into clear glasses to serve at this luncheon. I like to offer fruit as a dessert option if someone doesn’t want to eat a decadent dessert such as chocolate almond cupcakes. Fruit can also serve as an appetizer and looks pretty in clear containers as part of the table decorations.
Daisies
I matched the daisies on the serving pieces by cutting paper daisies using two paper punches and cardstock paper (a white flower shape and a yellow round shape). Then I glued the two pieces together with a glue stick and scattered them around the table. I bent some of the daisy petals upward to give the daisies a three-dimensional look.
Mix in Paper Plates
I added daisy paper plates to give each white place setting some color. Add colorful paper items with dinnerware to create a unique and fun look.
Pretty Plastic Flatware
I love the plastic aqua and gold flatware (made by Luxe Party NYC) I found at a home goods store. Plastic flatware is a good option when you want a coordinated look but don’t want to invest in new dining flatware. Visually it is hard to tell from the real thing! This kind of flatware is also a great way to dress up picnics! And the best thing is it can be washed and used again.
How to Make Cupcake Toppers
These daisy cupcake toppers on Chocolate Almond Cupcakes are so easy to make! I used the same (2-inch) daisy punch (that I used to make the table daisies) to make the table daisies. Each topper is made with a daisy on the front and back sides–so they look good from any angle.
Make a cupcake topper by punching out two white cardstock daisies. Then use a 1/2-inch round punch to cut out two yellow round dots. Using a glue stick, glue a yellow center onto each daisy. Then glue a wooden toothpick to the back of one daisy. Glue the other daisy to the toothpick with the yellow dot on the outside. Stagger the second paper daisy to prevent all the petals from lining up perfectly. The glue will dry quickly, so the toppers are ready to use in just a few minutes. Before inserting the daisies into the cupcakes, bend some petals to make them look more realistic.
Baking Cups
I like to use baking cups for cupcakes because you don’t have to use a muffin pan. Just place the cups on a baking sheet and fill them with batter. These cups are made by a company called Simply Baked, and while they are great for baking, you can also use them as pretty containers for other things such as fruit, candy, and ice cream.
Silk Butterflies on the Summer Daisy Table
For the six-place settings in the middle of the table, I added clip-on yellow silk butterflies to yellow ribbons (that served as napkin holders). Silk butterflies are a vibrant way to bring the table to life.
Paper Daisies on the End Place Settings
For place settings at the ends of the table, I attached paper daisies to the yellow ribbons using hot glue. The daisies varied the look of the place settings and were a cute way to use extra daisies.
Drinkware on the Easy Summer Daisy Table
These drinking glasses are so pretty! Handmade in Italy by IVV Glassmakers, each has a different pattern and works well with the tall dotted glasses used on this table.
Sunny Yellow Daisies on the Summer Daisy Table
Yellow daisies are so vibrant–they bring sunshine onto a table! Originally I had planned to use classic white daisies but switched to yellow, which provided a bright contrast to the table and complemented the yellow butterflies.
