Cooking Time for Easy Honey-Pecan Salmon

This fish entree is easy enough to serve as a weeknight meal or to entertain guests. It takes very little time to make, and you can reduce your cooking time if your fish fillets are thin by checking them after 5-6 minutes. For thicker fillets, set the cooking time for the minimum amount of time listed in the recipe, and then check the fillets with a fork to see if they are flaky. Remember, they will continue to cook after you remove them from the oven. In addition, if you cook fewer fillets than listed in the recipe, they can cook faster.

Choose Salmon or White Fish

You can substitute white fish for the salmon in this recipe. However, choose fillets about 1 1/2 inches thick. If the fillets have thin tails, tuck them under the meatier part of the fillet so they don’t overcook. If you prefer wild Alaskan salmon or white fish, click here for a source.

Honey-Mustard Glaze

Salt and pepper the fillets, and then add the honey mustard glaze. It mixes quickly and has only three ingredients. Any flavor of honey works well.

Topping for Honey-Pecan Salmon

The topping has bread crumbs, chopped pecans, and chopped fresh parsley. You can omit the nuts if desired. Fresh parsley will give you the best taste, but you can substitute dried if it is what you have on hand.

What to Serve with Honey-Pecan Salmon

This fish goes well with mashed potatoes, sauteed vegetables, or a mixed greens salad with vinaigrette.
