Fall Cocktail
These Moscow Mules are fizzy and have the obligatory lime juice–two things you expect in a mule. What turns them into a fall drink is apple cider, plus a secret ingredient to enhance the apple cider flavor. These mules are easy to assemble and are perfect for fall entertaining. Your guests will love them!

Make Apple-Flavored Vodka for Cinnamon Apple Moscow Mules
These mules have apple-flavored vodka in them. You can purchase apple vodka or make your own with plain vodka. It is unbelievably easy to make and has only three ingredients — vodka, apples, and cinnamon. To infuse flavor into vodka, let it sit for about a week. So, if you plan to make cocktails on the weekend, start the infusion process the weekend before. Click here to go to the Cinnamon-Apple Infused Vodka recipe.Â

Secret Ingredient for Cinnamon Apple Moscow Mule
This recipe has a secret ingredient that enhances the apple cider flavor. The secret: use an apple cider drink mix (shown below). However, there are other brands besides the one I show below. But whichever you use, choose an apple cider mix instead of a mulled cider mix. Many mulled cider mixes lack any apple flavor. For this recipe, you will want the apple flavor!

Use Fresh Apples and Limes to Garnish
The most visually appealing aspect of this Cinnamon Apple Moscow Mule is the fresh apple slices floating on top. Use small to medium-sized apples and cut large slices to place in the mugs (as shown below). Cut limes into wedges. Be sure to squeeze some lime juice over the apple slices to prevent them from browning. Put a couple of apple slices and a lime wedge into the finished drink. Then, add a sprig or two of greenery. For these drinks, I used a sprig of basil and a sprig of mint.

Mocktail Cinnamon Apple Moscow Mule
I like this drink as a mocktail without the alcohol; it features ginger beer, which might sound alcoholic but is indeed non-alcoholic. Personally, I prefer to use Barritt’s Ginger Beer for the best taste. However, if that’s not available, Fever-Tree Ginger Ale works well too. Of course, if you have a favorite brand, feel free to use it instead.
When making mocktails, it’s a good idea to include the apple, lime, and greenery garnish, just as you would for cocktails. After all, it is a special drink! Additionally, for an extra touch of flavor, place a stick of cinnamon in the mug. This combination not only enhances the presentation but adds a delightful aroma as well!

Copper Mug for Cinnamon Apple Moscow Mule
For the best taste, use copper mugs for these mules. They become chilled with the crushed ice and will stay that way for a while. You could use an insulated mug if you don’t have copper mugs. Enjoy!
