Melon Mule Cocktail

This Melon Mule Cocktail recipe uses melon-flavored vodka to infuse flavor into this summertime drink. Mix with fresh-squeezed lime juice, ginger beer, and a slice of watermelon. You can also make a mocktail version of this drink.

Easy-to-Make Cocktail

For cocktail and melon lovers, this drink has both! Perfect for summertime but refreshing anytime you want a taste of summer, this cocktail will surely please guests. Lime, melon-flavored vodka, ginger beer, and a scoop of crushed ice are the only ingredients needed to make this drink.

Mocktail Option

If you like the flavors in this drink but want a nonalcoholic drink, make a mocktail. It is so simple to do! Replace the melon-flavored vodka with two ounces of pureed watermelon and a couple of drops of watermelon flavoring.

Garnishes for Melon Mule Cocktails

Adding fresh garnishes or decorations is one way to make a dazzling drink. The melon mules in the photos have a quarter slice of lime, a mint sprig, and a small yellow watermelon slice. If you haven’t tried a yellow watermelon, it tastes as sweet (maybe sweeter) as a red one! Unfortunately, they are not as easy to find as red watermelons. However, check farmer’s markets and fruit stands. Occasionally, local grocery stores and Trader Joe’s will have them in stock.

Ginger Beer for Melon Mule Cocktails

You can substitute ginger ale for ginger beer since both are nonalcoholic drinks. My favorite ginger beer for this cocktail is Barritt’s Ginger Beer, and my favorite ginger ale is Fever Tree.
