This pink New Year’s Eve table embraces a non-traditional color scheme to craft a festive and glamorous tablescape for welcoming the new year. Gather ideas to incorporate pink accents and dazzling decor into your celebration.
Transitioned From a Christmas Table
This pink New Year’s Eve table was originally set as a Christmas tablescape (click here to see) featuring bottle brush trees, pink-wrapped gifts, and a centerpiece adorned with gold and pink ornaments. It was transformed into a stunning, sparkly table perfect for ringing in the new year.
Converting to a New Year’s Table
I set a pink table for Christmas and decorated a pink tree in the dining room. Since I wanted to leave the Christmas tree with pink ornaments for New Year’s, I decided to create a pink tablescape to ring in the new year. I reused a few items including the white tablecloth, pink chargers, and gold flatware from the Christmas table. Then, I layered a new look on top.
Sparkly Table Runner
To kick off the New Year’s Eve table, I added a sparkly blush pink sequined table runner. This touch immediately set a festive mood.
Centerpiece Arrangement
In the center of the table, I placed two fresh flower arrangements filled with white, pink, and plum-colored blooms. To enhance the display, I scattered votive candles and roses between the arrangements. I learned that while sparkly elements can be eye-catching, they can overwhelm other elements, so I made sure to mix the sparkle with organic items like flowers for a more balanced centerpiece.
Add Tuxedo Napkins
I reused the pink chargers and gold flatware from the Christmas table, but switched the white plates for a different set, although the originals would have worked just fine. I then folded sparkly pink sequin napkins into “tuxedos” and fashioned bow ties from black ribbon and hot glue. (For a tutorial on folding tuxedo napkins and making bow ties, click here!)
Glassware Section for Pink New Year’s Eve Table
To ensure harmony on the table, I replaced the gold-trimmed drinkware from the Christmas table with simpler glasses. Too many dramatic elements can compete with one another, making the table feel overwhelming, so I aimed for a more cohesive look.
Differences Between the Two Tables
The transformation from a Christmas-themed table to a New Year’s table was seamless. Removing ornaments and presents, and swapping the centerpiece of bottle brush trees and pine greenery for a pink sequined runner and flower arrangements gave the table a fresh vibe.
Sequined Table Linens
Finding affordable sequined table linens was easy; I used 20 x 20-inch blush-colored napkins and a blush/rose gold runner for this New Year’s setup. These linens come in various colors, allowing for traditional New Year’s tables in black, silver, or gold, or a more unconventional color scheme.
Add Themed Place Cards
To add a personal touch, themed place cards can guide guests to their seats. This thoughtful detail not only adds visual interest but also allows you to plan seating arrangements in advance. These place cards, custom-designed by my daughter, feature a blush-pink clock face that matches the linens and theme.
Don’t Forget the Accessories
Complete your New Year’s Eve table by scattering a few noisemakers around. This fun detail adds an extra layer of celebration!
