Make Versatile Fruit Popsicles
Fruit popsicles are so easy to make, and there are many fruit variations! Use the suggested fresh fruit–peaches and sweet cherries–or substitute your favorites. Making these popsicles is a great way to use fruit before it spoils because freezing it will stop it from aging.

Slice the Fruit
Slice fresh fruit thin for these popsicles. This will make eating them easier because there won’t be any large frozen pieces to bite into. Make sure to wash the fruit thoroughly and remove any seeds and stems. Peel the peaches for the best taste.

Use Grape Juice for Fruit Popsicles
Place the cut fruit into the popsicle mold. Alternate the fruit so you don’t end up with all the cherries on top and peaches on the bottom. Pack the mold with as much fruit as you like without overpacking it. Then, pour sparkling white grape juice or regular white grape juice over the fruit until it is within 1/4 inch of the top of the mold. This will leave room for expansion when the popsicles freeze. White grape juice stays clear and lets the fruit show through. There is no noticeable taste difference between sparkling and plain white grape juice.

Use Wooden Sticks for Fruit Popsicles
Use wooden sticks for a nostalgic treat! Wooden sticks are optional because most popsicle molds provide lids and plastic sticks. However, you can substitute wooden sticks instead. Use clear plastic wrap placed over the top of the mold, cut a slit, and insert the wooden stick. The plastic will hold the sticks in place while the popsicles freeze.

Freeze Fruit Popsicles Overnight
Make these fruit popsicles one day and serve them the next. It is best to freeze them overnight because the time needed changes based on the size of the molds. Small molds can freeze in as little as 4-6 hours, whereas larger-sized molds might take up to 12 hours to thoroughly freeze.

How to Make Fruit Popsicles
Equipment
- 6 molds for frozen popsicles
- 6 wooden ice cream sticks (optional–instead use the sticks that come with the molds)
- plastic wrap (optional if you use the sticks that come with the molds)
Ingredients
- 2 fresh ripe peaches, peel removed
- 15 fresh sweet cherries
- 12 ounces Welch's Sparkling White Grape Juice Cocktail (or white grape juice)
Instructions
- Cut peaches into thin, small slices.
- Remove the pits and cut the cherries into thin slices.
- Alternating the fruit, loosely pack it into the molds.
- Fill molds with the sparkling grape juice, stopping about 1/4 inch from the top to leave room for expansion.
- Place a sheet of plastic wrap over the top of the molds and seal tightly by pressing to the sides. Plastic wrap should be taut. Use a sharp paring knife to make a small slit in the middle of the plastic for each mold. Insert a wooden stick in the plastic hole, wedging it between the fruit slices so they are centered and straight.
- Freeze overnight.
