Ingredients

  • ½ pound ground hamburger
  • ½ pound ground hot sausage
  • 3 medium jalapenos, minced and seeds removed
  • 4.5 ounces green chiles
  • 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 8 ounces salsa, hot or mild (hot or mild, depending on how spicy you want the dip)
  • 1 pound Velveeta Cheese, cubed
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (from ready-to-use packet) (for gluten-free dip, choose a brand like McCormick gluten-free)

Instructions

  • Brown the hamburger and sausage together in a large skillet. Drain any excess liquid. Add jalapenos and cook until wilted.
  • Add green chiles, tomatoes, taco seasoning, and salsa. Stir and cook for 5 minutes
  • Stir in cheese and cook on low until melted. Serve with tortilla chips. Store in the refrigerator. To reheat, place in a pan and add a little milk to rehydrate and prevent scorching.
