- 16 ounces lump crab
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup onion, minced
- ⅛ teaspoon white pepper
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Place the crab meat in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Then, check for and remove any cartilage and shell from it. Set aside.
Place the cream cheese and mascarpone in a mixing bowl and stir until smooth and creamy. Alternatively, use a mixer if the cheeses are cold or stiff.
Stir in the onion, pepper, salt, Worcestershire, garlic, cayenne pepper, lemon juice, and mustard. Mix until well blended.
Gently fold in the crab meat until it is distributed throughout the cheese mixture.
Spray a baking dish with cooking spray or grease it with butter.
Place the crab dip in the baking dish, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, and bake for 30-40 minutes or until the center is hot (165°F or 74°C).
Serve with pan-fried pita or bread slices.
