This Orange Fluff is known as a salad but tastes like a dessert! So which is it?

Citrus Fruits
This dish has pineapple and mandarin oranges, giving it a citrus taste. The recipe calls for crushed pineapple, but you can also use pineapple tidbits if you like a bigger bite of pineapple.

Nuts and Miniature Marshmallows
This dish has pecans and mini marshmallows, but you can change either to suit your taste. If you don’t eat nuts, omit the pecans. And if you would like more protein in this dish and fewer carbs, leave out the marshmallows and stir in 12-ounces of cottage cheese.

Sweet Ingredients
Up to this point, this dish has fruit and nuts in it, which definitely sounds like a salad. The two last ingredients are orange gelatin and a non-dairy dessert topping–now it sounds more like a dessert! The orange gelatin adds sugar and more orange flavor, while the topping gives this dish lightness and fluffiness. For less sugar, you can substitute sugar-free orange gelatin. But whichever you want to call it, it is a dish that you can make in a hurry because all the ingredients are stirred together, and there is no cooking!
