Soften the lime sherbet by leaving it out of the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. Then in a large punch bowl, using all of the sherbet, place it in scoops in the bowl. Over this, shake and then pour the pineapple juice. Then add the ginger ale. Stir until the sherbet starts to dissolve.
To make cocktails, add 1 to 1 1/2 ounces of vodka or rum to a 6-8 ounce serving of the sherbet punch.
Either a lime vodka or coconut rum will work in this recipe to make a cocktail.
