Sour Cherry Cheddar Bites

You won’t believe how easy this appetizer is to make. It takes about five minutes to put together and only five minutes to bake.

You brush the inside of phyllo shells with melted butter. This step is what makes these bites so tasty!

Add a dollop of sour cherry jam. This is the same type of sour cherry that is used in cherry pie.

Cut a small piece of cheddar cheese and place it on top of the jam.

Pop the baking sheet into the oven for just 5 minutes and this appetizer is ready to eat.

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Brush the inside of the phyllo shells with melted butter. Add enough sour cherry jam to fill up the shells almost full. Add small slices of cheese to cover most of the jam. Place shells on a baking sheet and bake 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bites are heated. Serve warm.
Recipe Notes

It is easy to double this recipe with an extra box of shells and extra slices of cheese.  There will be enough jam from the one jar to fill 15 more shells.
