Fritos salad is a favorite summer dish that is a full meal with meat, vegetables, cheese, and of course Fritos. But don’t let the name fool you. Although called a salad, it is hearty and filling and can be made and assembled in one pan which makes it a perfect food for tailgate parties and while camping. Cut the vegetables ahead of time and this dish comes together very fast. Click here to jump to the recipe.

Using only one pan, you cook the burger in a large skillet and then layer the other ingredients on top. It is just that easy!

But what makes this salad so much fun to eat is serving it in the empty Fritos bags. Yes, the same ones that the Fritos came out of to garnish this salad. Not only do you repurpose the bags, but it makes cleanup easy too!

The bags are sturdy enough to eat from and fill again!

This salad also works for picky eaters. Cook the meat in the skillet and then add the cheese. Serve the vegetables in separate containers and let each person fill their Fritos bag with the cooked meat and then any of the vegetables they choose. Then they can top their salad bag with the Fritos last so they stay crunchy and crispy!

The small Fritos bags usually come boxed in a multi-pak with other types of chips. Any of the other chip bags work well for eating out of too!

Continue cooking until the vegetables are wilted about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and spread the beef mixture into an even layer in the skillet. Sprinkle the corn evenly over the cooked beef. Next, pour the cheese dip over the corn layer. Add the lettuce layer and then the tomatoes. Finally, sprinkle the Fritos evenly over the top layer. Serve immediately.
Recipe Notes

This salad is so easy to make that you can’t mess it up.  Measurements don’t have to be exact and it will still turn out delicious!  For picky eaters, prepare the meat as directed and then have all the toppings in separate containers. Let each person fill their own Fritos bag with the toppings they like.
